What music do you listen to while sinking Allied shipping?

Kaleuns,
whilst enjoying the greatest WW2 Simulation in existence (IMHO), what music do you listen to?
Are you a "total realism" nut ie the gramophone with German U-Boot songs, or are you a little like me and play "external" music?
My current selection is Sonata Arctica, wonderful Finnish Melodic Power Metal, to get my crew's blood pumping! :salute:

rather partial to a bit of Bob Dylan while on patrol, not exactly historical but it works for me.

I like to listen to the Jaws theme song, especially when getting ready to attack a convoy :arrgh!:

papa_smurf 09-21-09 05:11 AM

Im a realism nut - so dont play any music whilst attacking Allied ships. I do play U-boat tracks off the gramophone once I've sunk ships. My current favorite is Das Boot version of "Long way to Tipperary", or "Afrika Korp":arrgh!:

"Doo doo doo do do do dododo
it's foolish but it's fun"

:rotfl2:Sorry, couldn't resist.

I like to sail back into port after a patrol listening to the gramophone rather than while sinking allied shipping. I don't listen to any non war era music while in game. I like the oldies immersion factor.

mmm depends on my mood, mostly iron maiden or black sabbath(dio years):yeah:altho if anyone knows the name of the track from wolfenstein 3d or knows where to get it please lemme kno, same for das boot theme, had that going thru my head chasing the Nelson the other day:up:

Shearwater 09-21-09 06:02 AM

The theme from Wolf3D is "Horst-Wessel-Lied". The music for 'Das Boot' was written by Klaus Doldinger (also available on CD).

I'm currently downloading jimbuna's grammophone track. I usually have the music switched off, but otherwise it's only stuff from that era. I like that kind of music anyway :DL

Me too.

Nothing quite like watching your T1 slamming into something just as the guy sings, "Aaaaall over the place..."

Hitman 09-21-09 12:39 PM

Nothing while attacking. While friggin' around in search of convoys I like to listen to classic music, Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, Tchaikowsky, etc, but also sometimes the classic grammpophone tunes mentioned by other guys here,
