Help on GVX 3.0 / Sub indicator?
I love the original sh3. Yesterday l loaded the GVX 3.0 mod and l love the modified game....HOWEVER there is one nagging issue l can't resolve. When l press F12 for the outside camera view, l can see everything in great detail...except the "yellow/gold circle with the arrow" that is visible in the original SH3 version. It is simply missing. The result of course is l cannot see at a glance (F12) where my sub is located below the surface. The lack of it makes for an awkward game . Surely the GVX 3.0 team did not remove this most critical tool from the game. Can anyone out there help me with resolving this issue? Tks :wah:

Welcome aboard, Silent hunter :salute:
I hate to tell you that during WWII (and even today) the little handy arrow was not available. But enjoy the game whichever way it suits you :DL |
Or course, Brag is correct. Fortunately, the destroyers couldn't see the marker either.
As one gets better with the game and targeting, these little aids become less important, until they become a distraction and killer of realism. silenthunter3grh: be forewarned; this game is addicting; the better one gets at it, the more he (or she, sorry Penny) strives for realism and attention to historical detail. |
Thanks for the help on Uboat marker. Need more help
Thanks Firewall for the link for the uboat marker. I downloaded it but need help to integrate it with the software. I know how to uncompress a RAR file but l need help with this one. Once l download it to the ubisoft folder (where the GVX 3.0 is located), l can't seem to find a "run" direction to have it integrate. What am l doing wrong. I am not a techy by any stretch of the imagination. With this issue l am under water and over my head. Help please Tks

OK, this is what you do:
go to the folder Ubisoft/SilentHunterIII on your C drive In that folder you will find a file called JSGME (which is a program. When you click on it to activate, it will create a folder called "mods" in that directory. Into that folder place the four files you have decompressed: "Blue U-boat Marker, green U-boat marker, gray U-boat marker, and Red U-boat marker." Now when you click on JSGME again, all four mods will be listed. Select the color (colour in Britten) that you want and then click on the > sign and the mod will be activated. When you next start your game, you will have that color U-boat marker.:woot: |
Don't everyone forget you can press CTRL + Num Del to show/hide the marker if you have the proper textures installed as per above.
