Find a host. Photobucket and Imageshack are the most commonly used. They will explain how to upload your pictures, and how to post them up here. Follow the instructions and you should be all right. If not, just come back here with the problem and we'll have you up and running in no time.

Simply use an image hosting site such as imageshack:

http://imageshack.us/

Click on the Browse button, go to where your picture is stored on your pc, click on the start upload! button and then the hotlink for forums (1).....untick the Include details box.

Copy and paste the text into your SS message window.

That's it.

Ah shucks! thanks guys...:salute:

just one more question; how to upload multiple images (...or is this also explained on image shack...?), i have about 6 pics for the thread.

cheers again

Just keep clicking the Browse button and add them.

im getting the little red cross in this box. is there a file type ie, png jpeg etc ?

Sailor Steve 09-09-09 03:00 PM

I only use Photobucket. They convert to jpeg automatically, and pretty much everything is done for stupid people like me.

Try not using your photo URL. Try this - after your photo is uploaded click on it for menue and click properties. In property you will see your photo URL. Copy it to clip board.

When posting to subsim click on open new thread. Type in info about photo and then click on insert image. When asked for where the image is paste the URL you copied from clipboard. After pasting double check to make sure there are not two "http" or other things. Your URL should look like this http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/1820/boatsbattleship.gif and not this http://http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/1820/boatsbattleship.gif

Your photo should be OK

If you use Photobucket, under each picture is a list of codes. Just click on the bottom line ("IMG Code") and you'll get a message that says "Copied". Then you can just paste it in your message here.
