Avira Problem
I have Avira 8.1, for some reason the updater just sits there, I get the box appearing on the lower right saying to update then disappears, and that's it!!, I tried a manual update with the ivdf_fusebundle_nt_en.zip file but errors saying that my version is unregistered!:-?
Maybe I will have to update this version, do I have to uninstall this version first or can I just install on top?:hmmm: Any advise welcome.:yep: |
I've read some posts suggesting that you uninstall, then do a registry clean to remove all traces of Avira, then re-install from scratch.
One instance turned out to be a customers ISP blocking the updates. Are you using free or paid? Paid customers get preference in the download line. Could be a server issue too. |
Usinf free Avira myself. Try to download at VERY different times of day (or night). I live in Germany, and do not try it before late in the evening. Over midday (office breaks!) German time (GMT+1)it often locks up. Once in a year there are some weeks of download issues, which so far always sorted out by themselves. I relate it to internet traffic and/or server issues. As Dark already said, non-paying users are sorted secondary in line.
Since the scanner works extremely reliable, I accept these minor issues. |
Thanks guys, I will give it another go later, if no luck I will completely uninstall then install version 9.:yeah:
