SH3 start up problem

:salute:I don't know if any of you guys ever had this problem, I've played SH3 on my laptop before, (Worked Fine). But now after I installed it this time it say's SH3 has encountered a problem and needs to close. I don't know what causes this problem, I have some idea. Do any of you know how to fix this problem?

No, cannot help you. But answers will come ... just wait.

I am running SH3 on my MacBook Pro 15". Works perfectly.

The only solution I can think of, is uninstall the game via the DVD, then run regvac and ccleaner, to clean the registry.

Good luck!

Leftover registry entries possibly? Ccleaner suggestion above looks like a winner to me.

SH3 Start up Error

Yeah It might be Registry error's. But I contacted Ubisoft and they said the problem might be background program's runing. :salute:

Do search

Do asearch for "sh3" in the windows search box and delete every instance. It worked for me, but I had to do it twice--some of them suckers were hidden away.

Hope this helps

Yeah I'll try that, I cleaned the Registry stuff out but the same problem keeps occuring:salute:

I think I found some of those hidden files one of you guys was talking about, I'll see if it works

You need to provide more information. What version of Windows and is it 32- or 64-bit? To get the error message text go to the Windows Event Viewer (Right-click the desktop 'My Computer' icon and select 'Manage' from the context menu). Look in the Applications errors log. Most likely it's an error with MSCVR71.dll (the Visual c++ runtime library DLL) and will be a problem with the patching process.

Cheers,
Andy
