Did hitler and lenin ever meet?

Quite possibly according to the etching going up for auction:

I suppose its possible.

Its also possible that the etching is someones 'vision'.

I have my doubts about that sketch. Look at Hitler, does he really look like the Hitler we "all know" (i.e. how he looked during WWII). Well... yes, he looks. Which leads me to the reason why I think it's a fake.

The guy with the white X above his head is Hitler during WWI. Eventho we dont see much of Hitler's face in the sketch, we can see he looks more like the WWII era Hitler than that of WWI. I rest my case. :hmmm:

What he said. I very much doubt they met.

I'd have to agree with Dowly. While it's possible that they had met, the chances of it are extremely low (Even lower that they played Chess).

AVGWarhawk 09-03-09 02:56 PM

I believe he was 20 years his senior to Hitler.

porphy 09-03-09 04:07 PM

I imagine why it was made in the first place.

"Want to come up and see my etching"
:-?

Letum 09-03-09 04:30 PM

If Lenin was in Vienna at that time, he wasn't for long and would have no
particular reason to meet with Adolph; who was utterly unknown at this time.
That doesn't make it impossible, just odd.

Aye, mine did too. Then I quietly poured what I had remaining to the bag of the guy next to me, had funny moustache and was from UK. :hmmm: :D

Well someone has apparently spend a lot of time and money trying to verify the etchings authenticity. If it sells nearly for what they're asking it'll mean that somebody else believes in it.

Think of it this way, both Lenin and Hitler being quite known characters, how this occurance have not been noted earlier? I mean, someone HAD to know about their meeting, jebus, Hitler's biograhpy pre-WWII is pretty well known and researched, it should've been come up at some point.

Anywho, here's bigger pic of the sketch re: my last post. Hitler looks WWII Hitler to me in that, not the young skinny Hitler he was in WWI (and even younger in 1909).

I see your point Dowly. This whole thing is sounding more and more like a very elaborately put up hoax to drive the price up at the upcoming auction.

Still, from what I read the guy certainly did a thorough job of it.
