Aircraft and Time Compression
I'm new to the Pacific after playing in the cold grey Atlantic for the last year and a half with SH3.
I have a question regarding aircraft and time compression. In SH3, when cruising at TC>128 aircraft would not normally spot you. Is this any different in SH4? I'm playing SH4 v1.4 with TMO. Thanks. :) |
Oh yeah! WAAAY Different!
They'll see you regardless of Time Compression... actually, many here will even swear there's a glitch surrounding the use of Time compression and detection (although not specifically aircraft). Then, to make things worse, if you add a mod like Trigger Maru, you will not only get detected but you'll get detected more easily! (and they're REALLY deadly in that mod). :03: |
A note on mods, while it is true they do spot you more redily with some mods most mods actually reduce the amount of air traffic.
The amount of air traffic in the un-modded game is ludicris. Being spotted and knocking TC back to 1 every 5 minutes, having to dive to evade, gets old fast. |
omg i hate TC in SH4. Theres Too many planes that piss me off i keep having to dive tc Stop Tc dive Surface Tc up again. and theres some ports that dont let you go past 4TC sometimes.

Good luck  |
Capt, soon you should learn to use the mod's here. They improve the game 100 fold...why the planes are harder, the traffic is scaled to a realistic level so you're not diving 10 seconds after you surface. Course the dd's are meaner, so prepare.

i dont trust myself to install a mod without blowing up my computer...
