Send contact report
I am playing sh3 with fax 3.0. Is there a reason the send contact report doesn't seem to do anything? I try to push it with contacts in sight and I have tried with no contacts in sight.

As far as I know it only works with groups of 3/4+ ships and when you are at least within 600km of a german base.
They will send the Luttwaffe....then a group of DD with Torpedo Boats |
Have done, and got a reply from Bdu confirming the sighting:oOnly time it has ever happened:yeah:

Had a few is the excuse if so. Is a bank holiday afterall. Cheers!:woot: |
Hey Mopy, didn't you mean the "M" (messages) key.
The "K" key is your log. If you can send a contact report via the log, please tell us how. |
Hi Snestorm,
Sorry yep. I thought Firewall was joking when I posted this. I didn't realise I had typed K instead of M. But yes, you are right. M key is correct, K key is not :salute: |
For the contact option to work you should have at least 3 vessels within visual range and be within the air range of the aircraft assigned to said air base.
Even when all those parameters are met there is only a randomised percentage chance that your report will be acted upon. |
I have had Bdu respond several times, but I always sink them all before the planes arrive. Guess I'm just too greedy.

Today I left from St. Nazaire and during the first day my crew spotted a British sub near France.
I have sent a status report and my crew deck-gunned the British sub. It sunk. :arrgh!: However, the Luftwaffe came (a bit late), with approximately 6 planes to destroy the British sub. Anyway, within 600 km (as said before), you are able to call in air strike. I went back and returned to St. Nazaire, there were about 10 British planes bombing St. Nazaire harbour!
