Hello silent hunter 3 forum guys, im an avid player of SH4, so i thought id buy SH3 for a change ;) is it just me or isnt there many convoys in 1.4 stock? i usually run into 1-2 Merchants every patrol, no warships/convoys/task forces, basicly, the atlantic is pretty dead.

and one more thing, should i get GWX? im playing for the *Fun* and so far SH3 is funnier then SH4, because of the imersion is so much better me thinks.

GWX3.0 and SH3Commander 3.2 are both necessary to get the most out of SH3. As a whole, you'll run into less convoys than in SH4, but if you find the shipping routes, you'll sink a lot.

You should get GWX 3.0 and SH3 Commander, those 2 things add a whole lot to the game and inmerse you in the whole feeling, of course there are other mods that enhance gameplay to a more realistic level, but first try GWX as it comes :salute:

played a bit now with GWX installed, the atlantic is more dead then ever, havent run into anything so far, but perhaps that is because i dont know the shjipping lanes etc, not even in my designated patrol area anything comes in, goinjg to try some more tommorow.

When you look at the navigation map, in the top left corner there are 4 pieces of paper you can drag down. One of these shows the shipping lanes. :up:

You haven't enabled the Indian Ocean or Black Sea mod have you? :hmmm:

Nope, played about 2 hours this morningm running around. everything i ran into was 2 hospital ships, and a Trawler wich sank me with depth charges, finding me standing idle at 60 metres of depth :p

and about mission objectives, do you have to follow them? the spots im sent too doesent seem to good. can i go run about my own buisness or will the old man get pissed at me for doing so?

That's entirely up to you....we have stripped out the renown for travelling to and hanging around the assigned patrol grid for 24 hours. The renown for returning to base has never worked, not even in stock/vanilla.

Roger, Came home just now from my first sucsessful patrol, ran into a convoy, bagged about 12000 tonnes, thats it for tonight, and thanks for all the helpful answers, See you all in the Future perhaps o7
