I am stuck with SH4 - can anyone help?

I got Silent Hunter 4 a few days ago, and I was ready to be saying Ahoy Cap'ain :salute: from sunup to sundown. I also got a new laptop, and so I loaded it on here. I thought it would be great:yeah:, and I clicked on on sub school and whatched it load with a huge grin :D. But then I got a message from windows telling me something was wrong. My friend and I spent much of the last few nights doing technical checks etc. and it was driving me nuts. :damn::damn::damn::damn::damn::damn::damn::damn::d amn::damn::damn::damn::damn::damn:. I was looking at the game in despair, about to hur it as hard as I could into the fire place, when I noticed that it said in the smallest rpint there could possible be: "Laptop models of thee cards may work but are not supported"

I really hope someone can help

Using my friend's laptop (which can't go any faster than a one legged turtle in a hurricane) I can (just about) play the game.

Though I have another questio though...

I started sub school, firt mission and went round the west side of the island by plotting my course. It took around half an hour with an average speed of 15 - 19 knots. It got really boring. To pass the time I wasted ammo shotting the water etc. etc. etc.

Time compression. Works magic.

um...you realize there is a time compression feature that speeds up time for this kind of situation? :yep:
