Computer freezing up

For some reason, my desktop totally freezes up (except for the mouse):stare: after about 5 min of running. I took the hard drive out and hooked it up to my laptop and scanned it; no viruses. So I plugged it back in and it ran once w/o crashing, but now it freezes up again.:shifty: I was thinking it was a zonealarm problem; I removed ZA, but it still crashes.

Any I deas how to fix this?:hmmm:

What was the last time you clean the dust from your PC? Dust + PC = enemy. Pay attention to PC and PCI slots, maybe that helps.

press F8 just before the windows splash screen (at least thats how it works when you run Windows XP)

May be overheating. Look at the CPU heatsink and fan and make sure they dont have dust

Seems like HD that stops responding to me, maybe get a SMART readout to check it's overall health and performance.
