Problem modding the guns!

So, I'm in the middle of creating my own uber boat. I know there's some out there already but I want it how I want it :)

I've edited the torps, which make a huge mess of anything they hit, might make them supersonic though, just for larfs. The subs go silly speeds, but not fast enough for my liking, so 100knts may be the order of the day there.

The guns though. Yep, they make holes as messy as torps, once they hit, the movement is too much and I can't adjust the gun direction finely enough. Then there's a little problem of if I try zooming in, boom, crash, gone. This seems to happen if I change anything to do with the guns themselves. As long as I don't zoom in everything is fine. What could cause this?

try changing the camera.dat deckgunzoom camparameters

Ok, messed about with those, didn't seem to do anything apart from make it intermittent. Now it's flip a coin to see if it crashes or not. I tried making it no elevation for any range but that seems to have the same effect either way.

I think I may have tracked it down to the amount of ammo in the gun. Having more than 999 rounds in a clip or storage shows some funky stuff, like the last digit being missing. Since setting it to 999 on these it's gone.
