Victoria 2 announced

Yet more great news:

I expected this would happen, Paradox said they would announce a new game at GamesCom and Victoria 2 was the most requested by the community.

I have never heard of Victoria 1. Is it HOI-style only Victorian? (Internet laziness forbids me from actually finding out for myself)

It's not really in the same style of HoI as it's less focused on warfare and more on economy, colonization, politics and all that. It's also that much more incredibley complex and is easily Paradox's best strategy game IMO.

Hmmm :hmmm: Sounds scary and interesting at the same time.

LOL! That should be on the promotional material: Victoria 2 - Scary and interesting all at once!

Vicky was, without doubt, one of the most brain scratchingly complex games I've ever played. it had a learning curve steeper than theoretical Physics and, at times, seemed to be purely about your population buying nicer furniture(at least thats how the economy and pop stuff sometimes seemed to me). But once you 'got it' it was amazing.

Hope I don't put you off! it was a splendid game and I'm sure the new one will be just as good.
