MOD Questions
 
Hi im new to the modding world and i would like to start making my own mods. Can some1 teach me how to make mods and put them into SH4?

well idk if this is possible but i would like to make a mod that can allow aircraft to be launched from subs like the I-400 class boats did. Is that possible?

thats a tough one but if your thinking to launch it agasinst a specific target then maybe you could turn the plane into a gunshell as far as the game would see it. then it could be aimed and fired at your target but having the plane fire another projectile of its own at the ship to sink it may not be possible.

also if you want the plane to go searching for the target on its own i doubt it can be done with the games limitations on what the AI can do.

Ok now if I was to make a new tab on the sub control bar for aircraft could I maybe move the plane around like the deck gun and fire torps/bombs wit spacebar cause now your just like a flying deck gun. U could use up arrow key to pull the plane up and same for the down keys only u nose dow and same thing to go left and right. How about that?:rock:

Hmm, launching the plane 3D model as a shell, im pretty sure this could be done, then we could slow the shell speed down to something reasonable like 120kts. . Then maybe you could mod the shell .sim and .zon and .dsd to match that of the airplane's?

Ok that sounds good. But first we have a few problems to work out. A. What mod program should I use to do this? B. A catapult will have to be added to the stern of the stern of the US subs. C. How will we recover and land these planes or we could make them like suicid planes. :( and D. Can we control these aircraft ourselves by using the arrow keys after the launch. if any1 would like to help that would be great!!

I guess if you wanted to launch them off US subs you could make a 2nd deck gun 3D model into a catapult. There are also playable carriers, this would make them very fun. Recovering the planes might be impossible.

I am fairly certain if you do this, you will have to give up the use of your deck gun (?or flak gun?).

Maybe it is possible to make the aircraft respawn, after a certain number of hours the surviving planes time out and get re-added to your arsenal, kind of like recharging batteries but with planes.

well, if it's deck gun connected, that woulda be a 4- hour reloading time, hehe
