I finally did it!!!

After playing all those years on SH 1, Pacific Aces, and then SH 4, I finally made it through the entire war alive!! First time ever! I always ended up getting sunk or killed before. This time I made it!

My career totals were 27 patrols, 791,737 tons sunk (yes I was playing essentially stock, but I did have dud torpedoes on), and 16 medals. Most of that tonnage was merchants. While I racked up some DDs on my last few patrols, my only major warship was a Fuso class battleship.

This career started in Manila, before Dec. 7th, using my Pre Pearl Harbor Career Start. After a suitable time to bask in the glow of my achievement, I'm going to see if I can do it starting in Pearl. :salute:

Play at 100% Realism then I'll applaud. :DL

Congrats. I have never finished the war without using a save. I did make it to early 45, playing with no cams or contacts on at 100%. My goal is to finish a career that way........hard.

Have finished a few times using saves. I was a lil mad at the ending. I expected to be in Tokyo bay watching the surrender...a little weak ending.

Now you can start all over.

Which boat did you start off with? S-18 class? How often did you get a new command?

And did you listen to your radio and Gramaphone while hunting meat?

I'm in June 44, so I still have a while to play.

Congrats Fred!

791,737 tons, eh? Well at least you stayed busy!
Makes me wonder how many total tons were sunk by Allied subs...

Of course! Though in this case, it wasn't one of mine.

When I do a career, I pick one station to listen to for the duration. For this one, it was Florida Sailor's BBC World. I did have my British & George Formby music files in it though.

For my next one I've already picked AFRS. Since it doesn't start until 1942, I'll be using the gramophone until then.

It was an S-boat, but I don't remember which one. I was offered new commands only three times I think. Once to a Gato, then to a Balao which I finished with. The Balao did undergo a game upgrade too.

I thought I might be the only one who hadn't made it through. I finally made it to the end about two weeks ago and was just giddy about it. :woot: It was a blast!! I'm trying to get myself reset to pre war thinking before I start another career. I'm watching pre 1942 movies. (Sometimes I think were all a little nuts with this stuff) :D

Yes, but it's the good, non-harmful kind of crazy. :-j
