Water depth question...

Did a search for this and cant find the answer...Why is the water so darn shallow in all of the ports?:hmmm:

The topography that makes a good port also means shallow water.
Most are in small or large inlets so you naturally have shallow water.

It's not shallow for a surface vessel, only to a sub trying to sneak in and sink said surface vessels. :yeah:

Really.:yep: Sometimes a harbor might be dredged out to accomodate large ships such as aircraft carriers. Then you might have as much as 100 feet to play with.:dead:

Maybe has something to do with...the closer you get to land, the shallower the water gets.......:hmmm:

LOL that too.

Shallow water means less wave activity and protection from those nasty subs trying to sneak in and blow them up ;)

I dont know of any deep water ports in the game I think Pearl is about as close to one as you can get. But you might get into trouble sinking stuff there.
