What I found recently...

Opened an old book not opened for very many years, and a folded leaf of paper fell out of it.

Part of the package content of the very first version of Falcon, back then still by Spectrum Holobyte, for the Commodore Amiga. Oh those sweet sounding words... When was that? 1987?

That brings back memories! :DL

Nice coincidence: just days ago I embarked on Falcon again, after a years-long absence. Practically I learn from beginning again, too much has been forgotten. I had no lucky start with Allied Force when it came out: too many bugs and comms- and AI-problems that killed it for me. I hope the version now, 1.13, works better. Even bought an Aeyes widescreen pit for the C-Viper block 50/52. First time I also use trackIR and pedals in F4.

Feels so nice to be home again, where it all started - even my callsign. My old girlfriend back then gave it to me, after seeing me spending so much time with Flight simulator II (!) and Amiga Falcon.

After all these years, pretty much just three or four sims have survived in my interest sphere: Falcon, Flight Simulator, and Steel Beasts Pro. Plus an occasional match of Oblivion and Conquest of the Aegean.

Brilliant :D

I still have the manual for Falcon 3 around somewhere, I remember wishing for a math coprocessor to run the realistic flight model.

I had a similar experience with my wallet the other day.....a moth flew out :DL

I got rid of my old Commodore 64 in 1993 and actually sold it for quite a good price, so no good old memories to freshen up there, though I tried a Commodore simulator and a few classic games a couple of years ago. It wasn't exactly the same experience as the kid in the late 80'ies.
However, I still have 800 VHS cassettes in the basement and wonder how their condition is.... :hmmm:
