GWX 3.0 Setup Problem

As you can see here, there is a corrupt source file in GWX 3.0 setup. Now now, I have re-downloaded the GWX3.bin files from Jimbuna and Kpt.Lehmann's filefronts numerous times, and something is corrupt that I am not getting.

Please tell me what I need to do,

Thanks.

I've tested the file at my end and it shows no faults.

I can only imagine the fault is in your download.

Does the install work?

I suspect it will seeing as the fault is in a tga file :hmmm:

JHuschke 08-11-09 08:19 AM

:hmmm:

Well, the GWX3.exe works fine, it will install halfway and then that
C:\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\NKSs_\NKSs\T05.tga cannot copy because a source file is corrupted. Its done that everytime, I've downloaded each and every .bin file seperatly (one at a time) and used no other internet other than downloading the .bin file... I wonder why they would be corrupt everytime?

Rafael 08-11-09 08:41 AM

It says that it is damaged (beschaedigt), so I asume your download exe file is corrupt.

Try to download the exe file again.

If that does not help, I still have all the bin files and can upload them to my own website.

I did the same for people with NYGM when it was unavailable.

Yes, but I did not know which file. But thank you! I will try downloading it again and see what happens :)

i got the same but just clicked on ignore and everything seems ok:up: well it hasn't come back to bite me on the ass yet.;)

JHuschke 08-11-09 09:18 AM

Yes, the first installation I click ignore, but then I had to take extreme measures as there were many adverse effects on the game and it was not really nice..as you see if you click ignore (it is not recommended) you can have some bad side effects in that case I did for the first time. That is why I am redoing it trying to get a clean install which I haven't found.

i wonder has the gwx team anything about this problem? do you know what file it was in maybe it can be replaced, averse affects:hmmm: ive lost my f9f10 and f11 i wonder if thats part the problem.:o

this guys are having the same problem with no result.

Don't try to bypass the installer checks, while the game may seem to be working, it will inevitably CTD later on. Also, as soon as the installer notifies you of a corrupt file, all possible subsequent errors will be supressed.

I'll remind you of MD5 Mate and the process required to check your downloaded GWX files. Check it out here - http://www.thegreywolves.com/downloads/
If your codes do not match re-download, from a different source, the part with the error.

Check the GWX parts and tell us which part is corrupt.

KeybdFlyer 08-11-09 10:54 AM

I was reading through the thread and was just about to suggest running your download through MD5 and looking for a checksum error, but I see Danlisa has already made that suggestion. So, true to my form, I'm suggesting you run it through MD5 and look for a checksum error! Seriously, with any application that is split into parts, a checksum comparator like MD5 is invaluable.

It happened to me downloading the Kapt Lehman ones. Then I downloaded the Jimbuna ones and the installed worked fine!

I have downloaded GWX3,all files apart from GWX3-4bin are OK but MD5 finds this file does not match Game stops installing half way through at:- data\sea\NKGN\NKGN_To1 through to 9 then NKLK\NKLK config then dat, equip sim sns
etc. I have tried to download this file from other locations on the site .same error occurs. Could you please let me have a copy of this bin file, if you still have it as I think that may be my problem. Please advise me of the address of your site should I need to download it from there Thanks John
