help with this error message

ok i just installed sh4 gold edition and i keep getting this error message that says "can not intialize 3d engine"

anybody know how to fix this?

Sorry JerM We need a little more info like, OS, Computer Specs. to help us give you a better answer.

I remember this , but not sure if it has to do with SH4 as I have no video's in my Intro file, but check and see. Goto

C:\ Program Files \ Ubisoft \ Silent Hunter 4 \ Data \ Movies \ Intro. and delete the 2 video files.

I would paste them and save them to a seperate named folder, use words not related to the game, like dogcrap....in case you need to paste them back.

Course maybe someone could check and see if they have the video's. I'm almost sure I deleted mine due to a problem or just to rid myself of them.

The other problems could be screen resolutions, direct x, graphics driver, ect....

Edit....Use search on the net, with "can not intialize 3d engine silent hunter" Got plenty of hits with possible fixes based on your specs..........

-update DirectX
-update graphics drivers

Always a good place to start. ;)
