What to do

Hello everyone. Recently started playing this game again, forgot how fun it is. I upgraded to GWX and holy mama is it nice. Well done. Few questions though...

On my first patrol everything seems to be neutral. Do I just need to wait for the war to start?

Also, I am being sent to BF10 to patrol and as much as I have looked the map over and over, I can't find a BF10. Uh, what do I do?

Sorry if similar questions have been asked before, my forum searching skills are as rusty as my firing solutions...

1. You have to wait until the war breaks out on the first of September.
2. GWX doesn't mind if you don't go to your assigned patrol area. Feel free to go wherever you want to.:salute:

If you start 1st August you will receive a radio message on 4th ordering you back to base.

Assuming you use SH3 Commander and have the days in port set at 20, you will then be able to commence your second patrol and head out for your patrol grid a little more than a week before the commencement of hostilities just like it happened in RL.

Don't worry about patrol grids because the renown has been disabled. It is now only available for destroying aircraft and sinking vessels.

Ahh ok, I figured I had to wait for the war to break out, I just wanted to make sure. I had a few...snags upon installation and was hoping I didn't screw something up.

For the patrol area, that's good info. I didn't know that and couldn't find it in the manual (that's a long read).

Thanks all, and thanks for the welcome back.

@FlyinS

The GWX manual might well be a long read, but believe me it's worth it. Putting all the actual gameplay stuff aside, it contains a huge amount of interesting info - it's as good as many a bona-fide published reference book! :yeah:

Loving GWX so far but WOW is it a great deal tougher than the vanilla game. Yowza. Fun though.

Yeah! Kinda new to it (and the boards) myself...the DC's actually, you know, get close to you and do damage. Amazing, right? I actually feel like someone is trying to sink my boat rather than make a lot of noise in hopes of scaring me off. Nothing quite like the feel of being restricted to 2 knots and seeing that Black Swan barreling down on you, perfect intercept course, and having those charges falling down on you.
