Sinking ships?

When i hit the targeted ship with a torp, do I need to stay watching him going to the bothom?Because in the gwx gold the ships sink time is longer, they are actually sinked by the flood and if you don`t want to wast another torp to speed up the things , you will need to circle around him waiting for him to sink.

What I`m asking you is could I just turn and leave , and he will sink already by him self, and I will get the credits?

Thanks

As long as you are not outside the rendering range (approx 30KM) when it sinks, you should receive the renown.

That is; if the ship sinks.

Some do not.
I would rather "waste" an additional torpedo and be sure.

I have left ships burning listing and dead in the water in convoy attacks in which the escorts pounded me for hours and I came up to find the stationary ship.

As a rule if a ship does not sink in 15 minutes I put another fish in it.

Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice. Most U-boat skippers would fire at least two torps at a target to make sure they got a hit and to give them the chance to get a sinking without having to use the deck gun.

Yes, you simply start a new career instead of reloading a save from the career in which you just died.
