Is software like this available free?

Is there any software that enables you to "look" into a friends computer and take over his mouse and control of computer to solve a problem or situation that might arise?

I'm teaching a friend some computer basics and when we're chatting on Yahoo messenger, it's sometimes hard to explain correctly what I'm talking about, and if this program exists then I could simply ask his permission, log into his computer, show him right in front of him what i did, and then exit back out with the saved changes.

Remote Access or Remote Desktop. Comes with Windows.

I was like... WTFK!!!:o and then i realised it was him.

UltraVNC can be used as helpdesk remote control software. With it, you can access your PC from anywhere and remotely help people and customers. Both Host and Remote components can be installed together on the same computer, or they can be installed separately on different computers. To speedup the remote access you can also install the optional video driver.

Just have him sign on MS Messenger. There is a tab in there for remote assistance. It will bypass firewalls and such automagically.
