Type XXI
 

Can someone tell me where I can download a Type XXI mod that allows you to get the XXI boat from the start of the war??

I downloaded this mod last night, and ran it through SH3 Cmdr, then remembered that it says if you're running it with SH3 Cmdr you have to put the Type XXI Sh3 Cmdr file into the SH3 Cmdr folder.

However there doesn't appear to be any specific Type XXI SH3 Cmdr file to put into the SH3 Cmdr folder....this might explain why when I go to look at my Uboat before starting a patrol in base, and the game is in 1939, the master display is all screwey....the main body of the Uboat is the XXI, but the tiny conning tower is that of a IIA boat, leading me to think there's a screwup somewhere with me not having this Type XXI SH3 Cmdr specific file.

Can anyone offer any advice on this if possible?

aye i got this last night also, i thought it was hilarious, huge XXI with a tiny type II/A conning tower lol

If you mail me at wildhawke11@aol.com i can send you the XX1 1939 file that works. I had the same problem so Wexford kindly send me one that works. Just use JSGME to put it in MODS.

I'm curious. I'm looking forward to get my hands on the type XXI and I was wondering. Anybody remembers how much renown it costs?

You're right, it's 30,000 in stock and 20,000 in GWX.

i need to go sink a couple of battleships methinks....

Ouch, that's costly. I've only cumulated half that so far and I'm already halfway through the war. That may be tight! :hmmm:

I'd sure like to do the same, but I haven't encountered one so far... :yawn:

one Revenge battleship caught in skapa flow sep 39 is all i managed myself, took it out with a type IIA using all 5 of my Eels got home for 1600 renown.
i think i'd have to sink ALOT to get a fair amount heh. got more renown for doing about 50k total when i switched to a type VII
