GWX Team-Why Not IIB's?

To the GWX team-Just wondering :hmmm::
I started a career in the Black Sea and only IID's are available out of Constanza.

Why did you not use IIB's as was historical?

I was thinking it might have something to do with range limitations within the game but it is just a guess.

Thanks.

The only Type II models avaliable for the player are the A and the D. The B is AI only and given the limitations of the engine, no more player subs can be added without replacing another.

From page 179 of the GWX manual: (Fine print at the bottom of the page.)

"Silent Hunter III does not model the historical Type IIB U-boat. GWX uses the Type IID as a stand-in for the Type IIB, and adds the port of Constanza as a U-boat base. "
