Fraps settings ?
I just got this software for recording gameplay. But I wonder what are optimal settings for it. Cuz now 5 min takes almost 5 GB of HDD space :06:

That is normal I'm afraid....you next need to compress the file and convert it into a playable format with a programme such as Virtual Dub.

Thanks Jim. I've already edited and compressed it with a movie maker :)

I suggest getting Xfire, it saves video too with no restriction of duration and it has it's own video encoder, from a video of 1 GB the output is a .mp4 video of 25 mb, then after encoding it is uploaded to your own X-fire profile :yeah:

It's always a trade-off between quality and size. FRAPS makes excellent quality vids, almost "lossless", but with that comes a huge size. It's an excellent choice if you're going to edit the vid before publishing it. XFire, Gamecam, Taksi and such allow one to compress the vid so it's smaller, but you'll lose some quality in the process.

I just have troubles with Fraps and rez fix. Without rez fix in SH3 it works well, but with rez fix it hangs up the game.
