Weather from hell...

Sailed out from Midway in perfect weather to patrol around Tokyo Bay, after 24 hours the storms came in, no issue I thought, they only last a few days at max, well 15 days later it was still bad, zero visibility, high seas ect. Chased a few radar finds, sailed right through a large enemy task force without seen anything but having almost crashed into a enemy destroyer that came out of nowhere when I was trying to find a convoy I decided it was impossible to hit anything and sulked back to Midway. Even when I returned to base the weather was still terrible. After 25 days at sea I was wondering if it was a bug. Never had such bad weather last so long.

I've seen some long storms. You can still attack in storms using radar or sonar. The deckgun works great in storms. Just ping with sonar until you get about 1000 yds, ask crew for constant bearings..you have yardage and bearings...let er rip. After it catches fire, it's easy to see. I love storms for a convoy attack. Takes some practice shooting by radar or sonar, but with torps or deckgun you can stay on the surface and have a party.

Yeah I feel you sometimes the game makes a storm last way to long even a typhoon should only be in one general area for a few days.

I relish storms!
Reasons:
A.easy escape weather
B.it's fun to sit on the bridge and watch the boat just a rockin' away

Since I use envorinmental mods, I dont go above 2048x TC, so I just go to 2048 and watch my speed, once it stops moving around the storms usually over.

Ah yeah prob I had was the escorts, pinging me all over the place yet I couldn't get a bearing on where they were behind me, just the odd morse flash and the periscope was impossible to use, 1 second of visibilty followed by 10 seconds of water haze:down:

Just a let down after one of my best ever patrols:)

In spite of the uproar about the weather in SH3, the developers did not produce a realistic model for SH4. Endless storms and high winds do occur around the poles, but not in the South Pacific.

I can honestly say I have not experienced the extented weather fronts in SH4 as I have in SH3.

OTOH, in the Atlantic, playing OM, I have weeks after weeks of sunny sky and moderate wind, with no fog, in January! This ruins the whole gaming. I abhorred the endless storms of SH3, but now I long for them:D
