When I noticed the title, I thought this was for those who survived the real war.

I survived the war, althought not without save/load madness in certain places

The_Blockade_Runner 06-18-09 10:47 AM

Yeah, maybe I should have clarified that, but I think most people know what I mean.

Jimbuna 06-18-09 10:49 AM

If you mean from commencement to end of hostilities....a couple of times.

Sailor Steve 06-18-09 10:59 AM

Never. I keep starting over when I find new mods I like, which is every other week. The furthest I've made before doing that was June 1940.

I guess in game terms that makes me a coward and a deserter.:dead:

Twice in stock game, once with GWX2.1 (out of five/six total), Currently on third career with GWX3.0, The previous 2 all ended in 1942.

Right now, I am on my 39th patrol during early 1944. After a harrowing experience with the dreaded Hedgehog (returned with 70% HI), I have decided it's time to avoid all further entanglement with protected convoys. I will spend my considerable renown to purchase TYPE I LAT torpedoes (with two V's for protection) so I can attack convoys from 8,000-10,000 meter away.

Christ, I never survived past my second patrol....EVER!

I finished a career once, but it wasn't DiD and I was sunk a few times. Now I'm playing DiD, currently on my 19th patrol in Oct 42.

Plan on finishing the war.:yep:

seaniam81 06-18-09 01:23 PM

I did it once playing DiD. I think it was GWX 2. It was a long time ago. Never since

BulSoldier 06-18-09 03:23 PM

Well i have never get past the dreadful '42 but on the other hand i played quite a few carrers though i spend quite a time on every single one of them and actually i almosnt havent played the stock and jumped right at gwx 1.3 (ii think) with 100% DiD :).Currently im in base before patrol and it should be dec '40 or jan '41 by the time i start the patrol with my VIIC (or B i forgot :)) but i hope i can take type IX, i really like those. The reason i am behind with the renown is the rather mystereous sinking of german vessel near my last reported postition :hmmm:

Platapus 06-19-09 08:37 PM

I did it once

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=132844

But won't do it again. From 1944-1945 the game really is not fun to play.

In my future careers I may just stop at Dec 43 and move to another career and perhaps try another sub.

A British plot to besmirch your good name. Just like the time when the British deliberately sunk a neutral ship right in front of me..... yeah.. that's what happened...

sunvalleyslim 06-19-09 11:42 PM

Hope to someday accomplish that feat,,,,,but like so many Kaleuns before me, i don't think odds are with me

nikbear 06-20-09 06:18 AM

Playing GWX1.03 I got to within 2 months till the end of hostilities, then my HD went tonto on me:wah:Since then updates and new mods have stopped me getting that far again, but I'm determined to finish the careers that I have running now to there natural conclusions, Hopefully to he bitter end:yeah:
