A problem with clamson class

I have a problem with the Clemson and Fletcher classes capsizing in bad weather. What are your thoughts?

Can't say for sure if it's a bug or not. Are you useing any mods that may have changed ship charactoristics? Otherwise it may be plausable that light ships such as Destroyers get tossed around in a nasty blow. It happens IRL.

Well I use OM and RE
and I use this settings
Waves amplitude=0.8 ;[0,1]
Waves attenuation=0.75 ;>=0
in the Sim.cfg

:eek:With those seas you could probably flip the Yamato over!!!!!
May I suggest this setting;
Waves amplitude=0.5 ;[0,1]
Waves attenuation=0.03 ;>=0

Do the ship go with the waves or right through?

With proper wave settings, the ships should just go right through. There might be a little up-down motion, but I doubt a battleship would rock very much.

I think they got struck by rouge waves?

To correct, the capsizing, the gc value in the .sim files need to be reduced to between 0.1 and 0.5. I have modified the .sim file for all units for the TSWSM to enable waves amplitude 0.8 and attenuation 0.75. If I go higher than that, ships take damage that I can't prevent. If you want to see what I mean, setup a test mission with a load of ships sailing in convoy, set it to 15 ms wind speed and the wave amplitude 1.0 and go listen to the bulkheads creaking .... shortly after which, some fo the AI ships sink.

I have reduced the gc on many ships to be negative to get them to handle right. Pretty much all the large capital ships need a value of -4 to -9 m. The net result is they go up & down and plough through the big waves, but don't wobble from side to side.
