30 Cars pile up on foggy california road

Im always amazed at these massive pile ups that happen from time to time.

Is that kind of like its not the fall that kills you its the sudden stop at the end?

I think the CA DMV issues drivers licenses out of Cracker Jack boxes these days. It's just amazing how many people think you don't need to try and stop for yellow lights, or tailgating at 70 mph is safe. I actually surprised more people are not killed everyday.

I've driven in California fogs and you'd be surprised how easy these pile ups can happen. One second you can see 100 yards ahead or more and the next a pile of crumpled cars appears out of the mist just 25 feet away.

One might think about slowing down in these conditions but that's actually just as dangerous as going full speed.

Thats because the dum asses behind you dont slow down too.

Yep. It can be quite startling to have an 18 wheeler thunder by your side window when you aren't expecting it because you are concentrating on what's may lie ahead.

Here on the Autobahn they do it at 120 mph.:nope:
