I downloaded this sub from a Russian site, I think and adapted it to be SH4 v1.5 playable in campaign mode, so far it works fine except for one thing. The surface radar PPI won't work, I get Air warnings and I know there is no scope to operate the air radar but the PPI to detect surface vessels doesn't work, the funny thing is that it works just fine in war patrols but refuses to work in campaign mode, any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

to me it sounds like an ID conflict but I'm not sure.

Where should I look? The upc files in the sub folder and the upcunits data?

I would start by looking in the subs upc file and go down to the UpgradePackSlot and see what radars are available when. It could be as simple as a timing issue. Check the areas that I have in bold and compare that to the dates in game that you are playing. This is what it looks like for the S-18 class for example.

Ok, I got it working now, it seems that the dates were messed.

Now it works, sweeps, rise and lower with the T key as a snorkel, it detects surface ships (I can see them as grey silhouettes in the plotting map) but they do not appear as contacts on my radar, the radar man warns of them but the PPI and the other scope do not register them.

Yeah I've run into that problem as well, haven't become too worried about it yet though. Someone else might have a solution to that problem.
