GM's junk heap
 

Over its history General Motors has made its share of bad products. Some were poorly built, some were badly executed, others suffered from lousy timing.

I remember my dad owned a few GM junk heaps, heck my first car was the Vega hand me down. Throw 2 bucks worth of gas and a quart of oil in her and you could cruse all weekend. (the quart of oil was a must)

Dad ended up with a fleet of corvairs being the tinker type of person he was. I still remember pulling the tranny once a month on his 65 to fix it. He uses the other 2 he owned for spare parts.

When you look throught the history of most car companies you will find a similar list. Some car companies seem to stuff up much more often and still have people buy there cars (the former british car companies are proof of that!):salute:

On the other hand GM has made its share of good reliable cars.

I owned a Buick Century that went 350,000 miles before I sold it. AFAIK it's still on the road.

It was just a reference to a past that I remember, and what cars they were referring too..

I have owned GM, GMC, FORD, and Chrysler.

Most were really bad in the 70's anyway.

I was one of those who bought one of the Saturns. Not exactly the best of decisions. Cheaply made but rather expensive for what you got.

My father was one of the Cimarron victims. Car was always in the shop. It was so bad, the dealership stopped giving free loaners to Cimarron owners. They claimed that was for the "real" Cadillacs.

All GM did was put a cheap Cadillac body on a cheap Chevy frame and charge big bucks.

It is these type of tricks that pushes customers away.

As our last president said

"Fool me once, shame on you, fool me...you can't get fooled again"
