'Americans' Pathological Avoidance of Touch
|
I touch my students all the time. A clap on the back when they've done well, a touch on the arm to get their attention. Course i'm dealing with adults not children.
|
I'm not adverse to touch, I touch myself every night! :rotfl:

What's the point of going to the prom if you can't feel up your date?:damn:

Ever hear of the "Diplomatic Shuffle"?
That happens when a person from a nation with a large personal space culture is talking to a person from a nation with a small personal space culture. As one person moves closer, the other person backs up, each trying to maintain the "correct" personal distance based on their culture. It can be quite funny to watch and quite annoying to participate in. |
That article is whacked, if anything, there's too much touching over here. Friends hugging, men hugging... I try to shield myself by sticking out my hand to shake and everyone wants to hug. :timeout:

I don't mind touch at all, especially if they are really cute! Then I'm all for it:yeah:. |
