And 3D model import/export tutorial for it here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=135177. |
thank you, but you with sh4 we have different files like zon and cam files
does that work too? |
Not quite understand you. Did you mean supported filetypes? Silent 3ditor supports dat/sim/zon/val/cam/dsd/anm/sdl/off files.
You can find some more info and tuts on it's homepage: http://sh4.skwas.net/. |
no the problem is that i cant find a way to extract the conningtower
it has a dat file, but i cant export any 3d in it the hull worked perfectly but the conningtower is still an issue |
So, you get an error when exporting 3D model or you can't find it in dat?

Quote:
1. Conning towers are in the Data/Objects folder 2. Open the .dat file in S3D 3. Nodes with colored balls next to them are "materials" and not the node you want. 4. Select the main node 5. On the right side select the "Model Preview" A window will open showing the tower, click on the picture of the tower and the program will show you which node it is. 6. At the far right of "node Positioning" and "Linked 3D model" are arrows so you can minimize those sections so you can see the "Model Preview" window better. 7. When you find the node, click the + next to it to open it and it will have a 3D model node. 8 Right click the 3D model and select Export/3D Model. I think you know most of that because you did the hull but I was not sure what your problem was. I think your problem may be you expect the 3D model to be the FIRST node. sometimes it is inside another node. So the first node is just a label for the tower, and then the second node contains the 3D model, and they are linked by IDs. You can find any 3D models by clicking on them in the Preview window and the and S3D will show you where the node is. (Thank you Skwas!!!!!) Important note: If you just replace the 3D model there are no problems. BUT if you add a 3D object the 3D model node number MUST be lower than the node that contains it. Example, this is the 3D model of the Gato hull notice the numbering: 5. Node-NSS_Gato 2. 3D Model A 6. NSS_Gato The A indicates a label, it give node 5 it's information "NSS_Gato" Also notice the 3D model is node 2, smaller than the node that contains it which is 5. Hope that helps, if not let us know specifically what the problem is. Peabody |
