India has a comparable rate of these birth defects, since they are basically dependant on industrial pollution and the health of the mothers.

I mean, who would be surprised?

Seen some of these on the TV before. Strange stuff isnt it. Would suck to have a issue like that.

I saw "The Tree Man" awhile ago on TLC. It was pretty awful what the poor guy had to go through. He was ostracised by most of the people in his village & had to perform in a "freak show" in order to support his family. He finally did get treatment for his condition but this only happened after months of the Indonesian government screwing around. That country's health minister & doctors seemed to be only interested in exploiting him for as long as possible.

There was a programme about this on UK cable tv a fortnight ago.

It makes you realise how lucky you are....'there but for the grace of God' :hmmm:

This is a gallery of children suffering from noma, a gangrenous disease that attacks the face.

Not for the squeamish:

there's the appearance but sometimes there's physical suffering too . In France euthanasia 's forbidden by law . we had recently the case of a woman who had a cancer which disfigured her face and the poor woman had to take medecine to put down animals to end her days .
