Woah ... scary stuff !

Man arrested bringing in vials of Ebola virus research materials

Turns out it was 'not hazardous' but just the thought of something like this scares the crap outa me.

Yeah. Ebola would be a nasty disease to hit... much worse than pig flu.

I think I'd take the swine flu any day!:o Hope he gets the book thrown at him!

Ebola kills people far too quickly to cause an epidemic Although not pleasant at all for the first victims, it would incredibly hard to spread it beyond them, since they will be incapacitated and die before they get a chance to sneeze on someone. Incredibly easy to identify, poor at airborne transmission, finicky to work with, Ebola will not cause any widespread pandemics.

Of course, there are far more dangerous micro-organisms. Anthrax comes to mind.

I don't think Yao will be working in this field after this.

Does not look good to your boss when you are delayed reporting for duty at the NIH because you are in the hoosegow for stealing and smuggling Biomaterials.

Further proof you don't have to be smart to be a scientist. :nope:

Speaking about Swine Flu, I heard that hotels in Cancun Mexico are less than 20% book for those that are still open. On top of that, flights to the region are reporting only 10 to 11 people on board.

Something tells me you can get an awesome deal on a vaca there right now! Swine Flu is for the birds and never went anywhere so I suggest you take the deal if you can.

The reason it isn't very strong is it is warming up in the northern hemisphere. The flu virus doesnt do so well in the heat; that is why this winter (here) if it mutates in South America and hits again in the fall it has the potential to get really bad for us.:dead:

Sounds great but what do you do when you get there if most places are closed? :hmmm:
