Health Minister Phil Hope gets owned

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/8047410.stm

Quote:

Health minister Phil Hope is to repay £41,709 in second home allowances following media revelations.
The Corby MP said he had kept to the rules but stories about his expenses had caused a "massive blow" to his integrity and standing with voters.

Aye. However, last time I checked, embezzlement was a criminal offence, so why has this guy still got a job? :shifty:

What makes me angry about this is the "we kept withing the rules" defence.

Not. the. point.

What irks me is that interview after interview that I have seen on tv, these pollies keep saying sorry but not about their own conduct. Rather "sorry that we worked in such a bad system". Again zero personal accountability by MP's. And the Speaker of the House is just a total embarrassment. It's just stuff up after stuff up with him. Totally out of touch. :damn:

Frankly, I think people should have seen the iceberg when MPs declared that they could create the rules regarding their own expenses

It's quite worrying when you consider this is only the tip of the iceberg.

There are many more like him out there :nope:

Hehe, well what do you know? :D

All of this crap my be within the rules, but it is surely not in the spirit of the rules, a point which none of these self serving gravy-boaters seems capable of grasping.

Still, have a laugh with the daily mash:
