But according to the United States government, the tenth-grade home-schooler is being held on a criminal complaint that he made a bomb threat from his home on the night of Feb. 15.

There has got to be more to this story than meets the eye.

Even if there's more to it... You should abolish the Patriot Act

There is , for all the crazy conspiracy theories concerning the governments silence on the case .....he is a minor so under the laws concerning legal proceedings against minors they can't say anything about the case can they , apart from saying that the un-named juvenile has a court appearace on the federal charges of making several bomb threats and is scheduled for the 22nd of this month

I gotta agree with Tribesman (OMG!).

I mean how could the mother know this?:

Lundeby told the officers that someone had hacked into her son's IP address and was using it to make crank calls connected through the Internet, making it look like the calls had originated from her home when they did not.

Thats simple , its either
A. her son is a little angel and wouldn't do anything stupid.
B. She thoroughly searched the computer and realised it had been hacked by someone to send false bomb threats before it was taken away
C. She miraculously did it after the computer was taken away.

My money is on A.

So basically the Patriot Act says the police can break down your door, say you made bomb threats, haul you away without any evidence, hold you without a trial forever and seal all the evidence.

Yeah that sounds great. The government has police state powers against its own citizens. The Patriot Act was never meant to fight terrorism. It was passed in the post 9/11 terrorism hysteria in order to give the government marshal law powers against its citizens without ever having to declare marshal law and you're a fool if you believe otherwise.

The patriot act wasn't even needed (if indeed it was used at all) in this case , everything that has been done so far in this case seems perfectly in keeping with normal long established legal proceedure .
Yes the Patriot Act is really bad , but in this case those complaints about the Act seem to simply be completely irrelevant bollox that is being used to set the blogshere hopping .
