It might be time for an intruduction

Hi!

I have been visiting this site since I first got SH3 on the release date, but I have only just now started to take things more Seriously!

So, who am I?
Im a full time employee of the swedish navy, and a uboat enthusiast (note uboat, not submarine. not a big fan of the newer tincans)
Like I said, got SH3 on the release date, but a lot of things got in the way, and laid it to rest a few years. Picked it up again last week, and boy is it hard to keep up with all the new mods!
ATM running vanilla SH3 with a few graphic, sound and interfacce mods only. Tried getting GWX, but got the MenuID not found error. Gonna sort that out when Im done with the campaing Im on right now; 10th patrol starting tonight, mid 1940, 1st flotilla. Thinking about wrapping that up and getting on with GWX. Although I have downloaded WAC, so not sure atm wich one to run, but that is what I understand taboo subject, so lets not talk about it:O:!

Well, thats me, Im hoping I will one day be able to bring something back to this wonderful community!

EDIT: Noticed I spelled Introduction wrong...hehe

Not at all. Disparaging one mod as 'worse' than another is certainly discouraged, but discussing differences and stating preferences is welcome by all.

Set up separate installs and try them both out. Tell us which you prefer, and why.

Welcome aboard; all the major mods are good, and many of us have multiple install (get the mod "MultiSH3") and you can have as many as you want. If you continue to have a problem with GWX, you can find help here. The usual problem is that GWX 3.0 REQUIRES a fresh, clean and unmodified install.
I have 4 installs currently.

Welcome aboard Viking (a few were from Sweden if I remember rightly).Just a stones throw across the pond from me,well, sort of.

May your time at sea be violent and prosperous :arrgh!:

Just a note from across the pond. A U-Boat is a Submarine. A TinCan on this side is a Destroyer (one capable of destroying a Submarine)

What I´ve learned here, is that a submarine is a boat that travels under water more than it does on surface, ergo the newer ones. I know they do travel alot on the surface, but no where near as much as the older ones.
A u-boat here is a ship that has the possibility of going submerged, but travels most of the time surfaced.

Thats what I´ve learned, but I guess its different in the states then.
