PearlCampaignStart Dec6 '41 SPOILER
 

Hey all, Just restarted a U.S. Campaign. My previous was going well, but I missed all the big historical fights scripted by the RSRD crew. Anyhoo I started from Pearl again on the 7th of Dec. '41 and headed out for just south of Tokyo as the first part of Patrol 1. Got to Midway, refueled and continued on my merry way.

For anyone about to start a new campaign from Pearl on Dec 6. '41 and wishing to engage enemy warships soon after the war starts for the U.S., here's a nice little IJN task force:

Date: Dec. 16th 1941 @ 17:21
Location: Approx. 1100 miles WNW of Midway @ 30.44N x 163.20E
Heading: SSW toward Wake (approx. 170 deg)
Speed: Slow screws (approx 10-12 knots.)

IJN Force Consists of:
2 destroyers
2 Hiryu Fleet Carriers
2 Maya Heavy Cruisers

It's a poor pic as the fog prevented me from taking a full shot, but you might just make out the other Hiryu and Maya (more of a smudge than anything) behind that first Hiryu.

I took out the first Hiryu with a full spread of my front 6 and then proceeded to get DC'd for a couple of hours, but to little effect. stalked the rest of the force throughout the night and got 'em all except the 2nd Maya got away.:oops:
