Seach Lights strenght
Hi all!
I recently read how to disable the ship's searchlights. Anyone knows if it's possible to reduce the light's strength? Thought to remember the lights were less intence in sh stock but I'm not sure. |
try to use sunglasses in front of your monitor........:har:
sorry, man! :03: |
:har:
|
One way is to shoot them out and it can be done.
Dangerous yes. :o Very dangerous. :dead: |
Yes I know. But the thing is the search lights are much too strong as they were in real. They are like laser beams upon the water.
So they should be less powerful in fact. |
|
Yes, but less strenghs and range. Also a reduced "gloom" around the light center
|
I personally think they are pretty good..
In the periscope view you are blind by them, and it's correct because periscope is an optical device that increases light strength due to magnification. Moreover, searchlights were equiped with carbon-arc lamps with lens focus mechanisms, thus they were very bright... so, enjoy the brightness  !! |
gentlemen....TorpedoMo didn't ask your opinion about the light's strength,he asked from where he can tweak that . posting other things than that will result to disorientation from the main question. maybe you would like more the new lights as TorpedoMo imagine them...
ps:TorpedoMo,i can't help you will that ,but pm Anvart ...he knows |
You can adjust the SearchLightEffect Render Controllers
Atenuation setting. Found for each light in Search_Lites.dat Never messed with it myself, But it's there. |
Well I play blindfolded, when search lights bothers me, and problem is solved :haha: :har: :wah::yeah:
|
The question does lead to some interesting thoughts.
The search lites are to consistant. It would be nice to have some differences in the lites. I'm sure not all ships lites were 100% perfect, 100% of the time. Color and intensity variations would be a good start. |
