uninstall the ati drivers and use "driver cleaner pro" to eradicate all trace of it, then re-install the drivers and it will probably work.

alot of previous driver junk is still leftover even after using the ati uninstall utility, this can cause AA and AF to not function properly in some games.

using the above method also fixed the No sun glare effect on Ati for me.

hmm maybe...but I had to use the uninstall tool already though just to install CCC

I have an ATI card, too, and for some reason, it IS extremely spotty "forcing" it on at native res. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But once it's stopped, I can't figure out HOW to get it back.

Anyway, that's just LCD "native res" (for me, 1680x1050). If I run the game in lower res - even at the same aspect ratio (for example, 1440x900), forcing AA works fine.

And the game looks (and performs) better at 1440x900 with 4xAA than it does at 1680x1050, so...

I know ATI really needs to get on that it's annoying as heck

as a matter of fact...UBI needs to put an AA option in their games..what were they thinking!!

Well, strangely, the ONLY game I have a problem with this in is Sh4. No idea why.

But, yeah, given the year it was released, it is seriously remiss of Ubi not to have AA as an in-game option!

Also recall the game had no AA of any kind upon release. Yuck! Even though the game does have AA now, it still doesn't work right in bad weather.
