Show us your rig thread
I have been to various forums concerning computers, tech-heads, and gurus of the computing world. Most have a 'show me your rig thread'. I though perhaps I would kick it off. Let see those super rigs and the everyday run of the mill beaters that have seen you through the years.

Can't I just brag about it? I don't have a camera... :D
Nice idea AVG, I'll just demand my brother brings his camera next time he visits. :yeah::woot: *edit: :damn: Nice case by the way. :up: (can't believe I forgot that :oops:) Should atract some positive attention at a LAN-party, impresive light scheme. Should make tinkering a lot easier too (I've been known to lay on the ground next to my case with a screwdriver in 1 hand and a light in the other :ping:). |
Great! I would like to see it:up:

I would take photos of mine, but the only camera i have is built into the display.
Anyhow its a Dell Studio XPS 16 laptop with T9600 Intel Core2 Duo 2.8ghz (6mb cache, 1066 fsb) cpu 6gb DDR3 1066mhz ram ATI mobility RADEON HD 3670 512mb ram 500gb 7200rpm sata drive and the usual crap (x8 DVDRW, Wireless-N (3x3), basic 16" display, etc) It sits on a NZXT Cryo LX laptop cooler (if your in the market for a laptop cooler this one is top notch but meant only for tabletop use) and plugs into a 22 inch LG monitor (i love it as it is 4:3 switchable which is perfect for old games). I've got X-540 speakers, X-52 HOTAS joystick, 1tb My book USB hard drive, 7 port USB hub, and USB mouse and keyboard for it as well. For a laptop its a pretty potent gaming rig, and keeps me portable as a student. Only down side though is with the standard 6 cell it only has 2.5 hours of battery life with custom maximum battery saving settings. Which sucks for my 3 hour lectures in rooms that don't have any accessible wall sockets. |
What case is that?
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q...k/IMG_3101.jpg That looks like my case: http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/7774/p1030749iq0.jpg |
@Nikimcbee,,
Raidmax Sagitta II case. I was a bit leary of the airflow but the front panel intake has the large fan and the side fan with the rear exhaust. It run cool. |
Pfah...brothels on your desk.:D

The innards is what counts Hunter! If you think about it, we could mount the hardware in a old cardboard box and she will still run! Nice wiring Hunter.
DT, the cooler looks like it would keep a Chevy 454 big block cool:D |
I'm in the same boat as NeonSamurai with a gaming laptop. A Gateway P-6860FX Notebook. Basically a desktop replacement rig. Rather wimpy on the CPUs, but plenty on the gaming muscle and not bad on memory. At least I can get it out of my way when I have to do other things. :cool:
Microsoft Windows Vista 64-bit Premium Processor Intel Core2 Duo processor T5550 2MB L2 Cache, 1.83 GHz Screen 17" Ultrabright screen Memory 4GB DDR2 Video NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS with 512 MB of GDDR3 discrete video memory...whatever the heck that means. http://neptoon.homestead.com/Laptop.jpg |
Mine:
Processor: Intel Core2 Duo E8400 @ 3.00GHz Memory: 4GB RAM Video: ATI Radeon HD 4870, 1GB GDDR5 Screen: Some crazy 9-year old Samsung CRT screen Forgot what me case is called I would've taken a pic of it but my camera has been broken for 2 or so years and I usually take a while to replace unnecessary equipment (Like microphones) |
Nice laptop Torplexed...what are the drawings behind the laptop:hmmm::D

I considered going with a 17inch gaming laptop, but as I need to carry it around to class and use it, i though it would be too much of a pain so i went with a 16 inch model instead. That though meant i had to sacrifice on video a bit. Still the video chip is pretty good, it can play most games other then the newer high demand games (Crysis) maxed out and can do the newer games pretty well too if the graphics are toned down a bit.
