    SH4 1.5 BO 2000m 1920x1200

This mod was made with Silent Hunter 4, Wolves Of The Pacific U-Boat Missions.

        I have 24 inch monitor running 1920x1200
All them other bearing overlays didn't match
so i had to make my own. (again)

This is nothing new of course but now we got a little bigger stuff on screen.

Works for stock version and should work for others too. Test and see yourself,
tis won't explode your PC (I hope)

These dds files does not have mipmaps generated to reduse size of the files
and they seems to work just fine. They can be done with paint Dot Net and while
saving, choose the option to generate mipmaps. Alltought i don't see the need for them.
Them files are smaller now 16MB instead of 21,3 (with mipmaps).
But if you get stuttering etc. in the game because of
these files, I recommend you use 1 file at the time like
just for the boat your using atm.

It seems not possible for me to do much bigger version since
Paint Dot Net crashed few times doing this. Memory shortages,
with about a 7 layers open it was using over 1GB...
Also, for 3km version the file canvas size goes bigger too.
Photoshop you say? And/or bigger rig? Sure, hand over the cash for it...  :P

  Usage:
Use Jonesoft Generic Mod Enabler (JSGME)
    http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/products-jsgme.html
... or backup the file(s) manually.

A very neat tip what found it on from readme file is that
you may also want to tinker your Data\Menu\cfg\Maps.cfg file as follows:

        [Map0]
(Added 2 extra zoom levels, changed 1)
        ZoomLevels=1,2,5,10,20,50,100,200,500,1000,2000,4000,10000,20000;,40000; meters per pixel
SymbolZoom=15;units are drawn as symbols from this zoom up (changed from 10 to 15)
        [Map1]
(Added 3 extra zoom levels, changed 1)
        ZoomLevels=1,2,5,10,15,50; meters per pixel
SymbolZoom=15;units are drawn as symbols from this zoom up

    I've included a v1.5 modified maps.cfg with this pack.
    Check them pics too.  :D

        Legal stuff etc:
Don't use this file for commersial purposes.
Other than that I don't care. Use it as you wish,
make it bigger/better/faster, stick it in other mods but
I still won't care. I've used similar overlays for years in SH3/SH4
cuz it's just a usefull addon to the game. It's the same stuff only the
resolutions and variety of scaling/info has changed.

This whole Bearing Overlay bisnez started long time ago for Silent Hunter III,
maybe even earlier but I don't have other sims than III and IV
I just had to re-invent the wheel again for bigger resolution im got now.

        Credits:
Original authors that I know of are:
        Pato, CaptainCox and lethal
        There might be more...

I take no credit for this or pride for the fact that I "burrowed" the
numbering for the degrees from the 3000yard file which can be downded from here:
        http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=174
The boat came from ubisoft own sub file. Evrything else was made with
    PaintDotNet.

Heres some relevant resources for other overlays (resolutions) for SH4 (that I know of atm):

Ah, this is very needed. Many of us have the problem of the scaling being wrong with range information, especially with wide screen resolutions. Some of the bearing tools have also been off by a half degree or so (in bearing) too. I like the looks of what you have done here. Could I make a request/suggestion? :DL We need a new 3000 yd bearing tool with accurate range capabilty. It would also be nice IMO to add some more "lines of bearing" to the tool you have already posted here. Also..with the 3000 yd tools I have used to date, I have often wished the 0 degree line were bolder. This would assist when using a less zoomed in view of ownship. May be impractical, but perhaps a "red line" for zero degrees ? That would be outstanding.
