[REL] SH4 Tool Tips Mods R1

...from teh horses asses:

Code:

  28. march 2009

SH4 Tool Tips Mods Release 1

This mod was made for Silent Hunter 4, with
Wolves Of The Pacific U-Boat Missions. (v.1.5)
I suppose this might work with other versions, stock 1.4
and mods like RFB and RSRD etc. Not tested thought.
If not its pretty easy to do yourself the needed modifications.
Just apply new images and (if needed) fix the pointer placing in Mouse.cfg.

This changes 3 files for normal and 4 files for the bigger version.

        There are 2 version:

                Normal
                - 3 new images just the same size
                  no need to tinker Mouse.cfg

                Big
                - 3 new images and the Mouse.cfg is
                  modified fir bigger sizes

        Wat?

New BIG images are 512x512 size, double size. This might slow down low end PC's
and if that happens, try the Normal version since they got the stock
                size images (256x256).

                Check the Pics folder.

        Why?

Readability. Now I can actually see the 1 degree lines
while plotting. I got 24' monitor running 1920x1200
and the stock images gets smaller with bigger resolution.

        How?

Paint dot net. With some plugins.
Notepad++ as my main text editor.
                Couple liters coffee.
                :D

        Usage:

Use Jonesoft Generic Mod Enabler (JSGME)
                http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/products-jsgme.html
... or backup the files manually.

Not to be used for commercial purposes.
You can make it bigger/faster/better and/or
                mix it with other modulations,
just give credit where credit is due.

        Have fun.

    JimBob

Good work there. :yeah:

I assume this is for thos that have a big screen :)

Iam running the game my self on a 22 flat screen and resolution to something about 16xx 12xx.

Yes, I started doing images fatter since higher resolutions does shrink
items on the screen. I got 1920x1200.
Some things can be resized within the menu_1024_768.ini but you
might get blurry images...

Alltho this mod also contains the stocky size new images for smaller screens like 1024x768 etc.

Could be easy to resize them smaller but resizing bigger usually won't work since
the image gets rather hazy.

I use PaintDotNet a lot since it has the DDS plugin built in.

There's some cool plugin packs for it too.

Like this here has the Polygones which helps
a lot drawin degree lines.

"Upload To" plugin is teh sweetest thing. Posting images in forums straight from the program.

There's some other nice plugins for it but I grow tired posting about 'em.
just did this with my morning coffee and my attention span is slightly reduced now.

:haha:
