They say you can't go back.....

OK - I admit it - I have tried going back to SH3 with GWX gold. I have missed cruising the Atlantic. But.. there is a problem. After playing SH4 for so long - I miss my TC above 1024. At that rate I could row my sub to my destination faster....

Any way to up the max TC? If not I am going just wait for SH5.

You could edit the cfg files, but you might as well get SH3 commander now.

Allows you to edit TONS of gameplay things, including TC for nearly every situation, fatigue, submarine, crew etc. Try it out.

The only problem with SH3CMDR is that it only goes to 8,000+ time compression, so if you own a supercomputer you are out of luck :rotfl:

"only"? Why would you need more if you're cruising the Atlantic? And you're wrong anyway...it goes all the way to 8192! So there!:D

Kapt Z 03-26-09 11:21 AM

wow, I usually never go above 256x.

I can see that with the Pacific though. It's a long haul from Pearl to the Bungo Staights.:DL

I'm currently limiting myself to 128x. I like it, but this one patrol seems to be taking longer and longer. And longer. And...

Oh, I hear you! My present patrol is about 30 days in(game time) and it's been over a week(real time). Just hard to find time to play more than a couple hours at a stretch.

I'm currently limiting myself to 128.

I also spend time on the bridge with binocs trying to beat my WO in spotting a ship. :D

I still play with fatigue enabled so I don't dare do that too long. Maybe 'no fatigue' next career.:hmmm:

Since I'm useing the book IRON COFFINS for my career blueprint I limit my crew to the number in the book which is less than SH3'

So I use the no fatigue in shc.

The fatigue cutoff is controlled by that 3dview setting in SH3commander. Forgot what the default for it is, 128 or 64.

Don't know if the plane encounters are controlled by that same setting, or any of the other settings. I don't think they are. Probably stuck with whatever the default is, for that. But, then again, I'm sure if you could adjust the air attack TC cutoff higher, you'd end up with instant sub damage and crew deaths.

Just curious-

What does the book say about crew size? I have 49 men on U-123, type IXB. I usually have enough crew that there are 4 'extra' men(not on duty, not in bunks) when submerged. That usually works out to somewhere around 40 men.

With SH3CMDR, you can set the time compression when planes spotted to zero or 1, if you so choose.

The default is set to 32.

Best set the planes spotted to x1....anything much higher is suicidal http://www.psionguild.org/forums/ima...ies/pirate.gif
