Rudder missing!
 

oo,, This has happened several times now. I will be cruising around looking for ships. I may or may not get into a fight. And I will not be able to turn sub, I go to cammera and look and my rudder is missing.

I go to the damage screen and everything is in pefect condition and hull has 0 damage.

Wus up?

I've had missing rudders before, but it's usually been due to bomb or depth charge damage. Either way your fate is the same. You're stuck going in a straight line until the fuel runs out or you smack into dry land. End of career. :cry:

that guage only shows the inner pressure hull, not the outer hull which could be beat to hell and the guage still says 0 because the inner hull is still intact.

Anybody knows what to change in the save game file to restore the rudder?

I know it's technically cheating, but DAMN! having a completly undammaged boat that you just can't turn is frustrating.

yeah is there a way to modify those save files to get a new rudder(i dont mind if it was cheating)..

Do you remember which file, exactly?

it was ActivePlayerUnits.upc in your save directory.. but i have no luck in cheating with those rudder.. i just manage to remove the damage on the damage components.. but no luck with those destroyed components like the rudder.. i think those destroyed components cannot be replaced untill you refit on some of the friendly ports...
i sure hope someone had some workaround for it...
