GWX 3.0 Problem....

Hi all,

Just got GWX 3.0 via a donation to good old Subsim and unfortunately I've got a problem with it...

It loads up ok, and the tutorials work fine, but if you try to start a new career or a scenario it loads up to the point of starting then pops up with an error box, sh3 has encountered a problem, do you wish to send an error report etc...etc..
It also say's :-
Mod Name : Kernel.dll
Appver : 1.4.0.1
Offset : 0001a323
Modver : 0.0.0.0
Appname : Sh3.exe

if that's helpful to someone!...

I've tried uninstalling and re-installing 3 times with same effect. The SH3 patch I have say's 1.4b however when it's loading up it say's it's version 3.0?? I've run mods in the past that have required 1.4b and used this patch without any probs.

Any help would be appreciated guy's........thanks.

Your download may be bad; you need to run the MD5 to insure it is OK. With very large files, this sometimes happens. You might try the DL from the GWX website..
I assume you installed to a fresh, unmodified install of SHIII 1.4b

Do you have more than 1 install of SH3?
If you have stock ( vanillia ) and also GWX 3.0, did you put in MultiSH3 into one of your installs ? This file is needed to create another folder in My Documents where the campaign data is stored. Not doing this could be your problem..

I recommend DL'ing the torrent version of it. I find it's much easier that way. Unless, you know nothing of torrent downloads, then it's not, so easy.

Jim, you really need to change your title. "Chief of the Smileys", perhaps?
