I have been driven crazy by this but have discovered that the Starforce site has a link to completely remove it from my system between re-installs of SH3...hope it works...google Starforce, download and run the removal utility and Bob is your Uncle and Fanny your Aunt..hope it helps..this is not a crack only a clear up of residual Starforce files on your system.

The tool works as advertised, but when you run SH3 the next time it'll just reinstall SF. No Starforce on your system == Starforce-enabled games won't run(without cracking them).

Or buying and installing with a disc not containing Starforce. ($9.99)

The dual pack of Silent Hunter II & III doesn't have Starforce and it's already updated to 1.4. I'm sure it's 1.4b, but the screen that shows the version shows it as 1.4. I had no problems installing GWX, regardless, so I'm sure it's 1.4b.

the screen shot is a little misleading... the box is really no bigger than the CD, and is Square.

If GWX installed okay, it will be 1.4b
