Minor Spelling Error

I was playing my first real GWX patrol last night, and I like to file daily weather and position reports. Though this doesn't really work ingame, and is more of an "I'm out of torpedoes can I come home now?" report, I do it anyway.

GWX replaces the "BE MORE AGRESSIVE!" reply with the more appropriate "Message received. Continue patrol into suspected areas of enemy concentration at your disgression. Good hunting."

Unfortunately the message jumped right off the screen at me, because of the misspelling of "discretion." After hours of searching for the file that holds it, I finally found it in the 1024.ini file (is that right? I didn't write that part down). Anyway, here is the replacement line with the proper spelling if anyone cares.

4197=Message received. Continue patrol into suspected areas of enemy concentration at your discretion. Good hunting.

[edit] the correct location for the file is SilentHunterIII\data\Menu\en_menu.txt

Thanks to Mr. Fleck for the correction.

Thanks for the info Sailor Steve.

Looks like all the mods that update en_menu have that error also.

Or you could have done like I did when I first noticed this and performed a Windows search in your SH3 install folder for "files containing the word or phrase:" and searched for "disgression". I fixed it in 30 seconds. :03:

I hate you.:rotfl:

Windows search. Got it. Thanks. I'll remember that. Or I won't, but I wrote myself a note that will remember it for me.

Should have been a teacher Steve.

There are a few more but I think it for the best if I leave it at that :DL

There are no spelling errors from Bdu Herr Kaluen. Only reading errors by the recipients of our messages.

Maybe a transfer to the Recruiting office at the Russian front will help your vision Herr Kaluen.

Can someone tell me exactly where in the SH3 folder this 1024.ini file is so I can correct the message? I did a Windows search & can't find it and I don't want to make a mistake and edit the wrong file.

Thanks.

Mhm.. interesting. The only two possible answers I always get are the "Be more aggressive" and "That will make Fuehrer happy", or something like that.
Using GWX 3 also.

Sailor Steve 03-04-09 02:34 PM

Are you using GWX?
