What program will play an ogg sound file?
Media player won't play an ogg file. Which program will work so I can review the in game sound files?
|
WinAmp for sure. Free version will read/play them, too.

There is a download of an ogg plugin to get WMP to play ogg files. I tried it, but it doesn't work on my vista machine
See: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/ogg.htm AND : http://www.xiph.org/dshow/ |
The real question is where did that obscure sound file come from and why did they use it? :hmmm:
sheeesh. |
They used it because it's free and open source. Vorbis is used in quite a few games.
If you're interested, check out the wikipedia article. Any decent mediaplayer will play Ogg Vorbis out of the box ;). I use Foobar2000 in Windows, it's freeware and easy on system resources. Guess everyone has their favourite... |
